Asbestos contamination linked to a place
Many structures - homes, schools and public buildings have asbestos. It is not uncommon for simple renovations to expose homeowners to asbestos. Some asbestos materials were still being used for new home construction in the late 1980’s. If your home predates this, chances are you have asbestos materials in your house. Be suspicious of any cloth-like wraps on pipes and ducts. Call an asbestos removal professional to check your flooring and pipe insulation.

Schools and public buildings constructed before the late 1980’s also put you at risk of Mesothelioma. Instead of removing the asbestos, (generally insulation around pipes and ducts, fire retardant paint, fire retardant doors and fireproof drywall) many publicly owned building sought to contain the asbestos by wrapping it in insulation and painting over it.

Your risk of Mesothelioma grows as the containment deteriorates over time. Complete removal of the asbestos by experts is the only solution that works, but would cost millions of taxpayer dollars to handle the hazard.

9/11 Contamination
In the weeks following 9/11 millions of New Yorkers reported the strange smell in the air. When the winds shifted, you could actually smell the metallic oder on accross the river in New Jersey. Now we know, that the rescue workers, fire fighers, police, and ordinary citizens were exposed to airborne asbestos.

Despite EPA claims that the air was safe to breathe, we now know it wasn't.
